Heavy Duty Truck Parts Specialist
General Job Description:
Coordinates and expedites flow of material, parts, and assemblies supporting Hall Drilling maintenance requirements in accordance with established policies and procedures. Requisitions parts/supplies and establishes delivery priorities. Is responsible for ordering, tracking and insuring timely delivery of parts required. Examines parts delivered to verify correctness and serviceability.
Essential Functions/Skills:
- Processes supply requests from maintenance technicians
- Assists maintenance technicians in the research of parts requests, and performs
research/validation to backorder non-filled issue requests
- Coordinates, arranges and expedites flow of material, parts between locations
- Evaluates inventory levels, and originates purchase orders to vendors for parts and services as
required
- Performs clerical and physical tasks regarding shipping and receiving parts and equipment
- Verifies the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items received with PO’s and other
shipping documents, checks for damaged items, insures items are properly identified in
inventory or for distribution to appropriate maintenance activity
- Obtains estimates and price details from different vendors to compare costs
- Maintains up-to-date parts price list
- Keeps shop and work area in a clean and orderly condition
- Must be willing to work overtime and weekend work when scheduled
- Dependable attendance
- Perform related duties as assigned
Safety:
- Follow establish safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties
- Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to Fleet
Manager immediately
- Keep work area clean and organized free from unnecessary hazards
- Follow all policies and procedures, with strict attention to safety, per company policies
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-2 years of related heavy duty truck parts experience is preferred
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must have ability to solve daily
problems.
- Organizational and Computer skills are a requirement
- Must be willing and able to deal with the customer and company employees in a courteous,
professional and effective manner
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Must be able to follow instructions and work independently
- Valid Driver’s License
- Have a safe driving record verified by Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
- Must successfully complete and pass a urine drug screen, hair follicle test and background screening
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
- Regularly requires intermittent sitting, standing, walking, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing,
and pulling. Physical strength and dexterity sufficient to perform the required task(s). Must
occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more with assistance. Additional demands may
be required. Work outside and inside, around moving objects, vehicles, and machinery with
moving parts. Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Occasional
exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise dust and exhaust fumes.
